As Ugandans what do we learn from Kenya’ court Ruling out of presidential elections!!


Mr. Enock Byakagaba a councilor who represents Baza ward at Fort Portal municipal council was hosted Live on Hits Fm alongside Mr. Baguma Patrick FDC vice chairperson Fort Portal municipality debating on the decision made by Kenya’s Supreme Court to cancel the general presidential elections which gives a big  lesson for  other African countries. The debate was live on 2rd September 2017 on ToroDev’s supported weekly radio program that is aired live every Saturday 8:00pm-10:00pm on Hits Fm.
 
Kenya government institutions are doing what it means to work for its people but not working for the interest of individuals. This path will be able to raise Africans above from the past political history that is highly entailed with corruption, blood shade among others. Kenya has set history in African politics that shall make a step toward rule of law and promoting democracy in Africa continent”. Said Enock Byakagaba the panelists.

Enock further commented that Kenya started from far to achieve this and they have gone through blood shade to improve political situations in their country which has played a role on improving democracy in their country. He added that what happened in Kenya can be in any African country especially those with active government institutions and committed leadership who can help to improve democracy, good governance and rule of law in all African countries.

The decision made by the Kenya’s supreme court to cancel the elections is a big lesson to other African nations, Uganda should learn from this next time when future elections are held, am so proud of the supreme court in Kenya, they are an example to Africa”. Said Baguma Patrick vice chairperson FDC party Kabarole district.

During the 2 hours live discussion 30 people called in and sent SMS and the following were their comments.

African leaders should copy from Kenya to improve democracy and protection of people’s rights”. Said Kasaija a caller from Buhara Kabarole district,

“African leaders should work hard to improve African politics this will help to improve democracy and respect of Laws”. Said Steven from Kadindimo Rwimi Bunyangabu district,

“Kenya judges have worked for the country and it shows how the institution is active towards democracy.  Said Andrew Mukubo from west division Kabarole district.
